Meghan Patrick - ‘Golden Child’

Meghan Patrick’s new album has got legs. Its radio friendly country in a trucks guts and whiskey way but Meghan says in interviews this is her most personal album to date; ‘Golden Child’ is where she went ‘all in on herself’ after her career went south post-Covid. She leaned into partners, song writing relationships, and her own self determinism fired up by her ‘Iron Man’ Pops, to deliver what will be a fresh start for her, standing up and stepping out so yah an album with legs, cowboy booted Daisy Duke’ed legs, going to take her places but she chooses, - I’m into ‘Letting Go of You’ and ‘This Town’ - reminds me of Village Inn nights, voice at the fore, blue grass at the foot - but to remind us roots is not the only root there’s a cover of No Doubt’s ‘’Just A Girl’. Interesting choice for someone who is most definitely not just a girl, not just a country star, not just a female country star, not just a anything unless its just Meghan Fucking Patrick!
